A diet book for little girls: Is this right?

Maggie is about a diet is about to be released.

The book is addressed (according to Amazon) children of 6 years and up to. The story is about "a 14-year-old girl who goes on a diet and has changed to a normal size of extremely overweight and insecure girl who is the star football school. By the time, exercise and hard work, Maggie becomes more and more trust and develop a positive self image. "

I can now say-I will not buy this for my daughter. She has already picked enough posts about diets-albeit of ads, TV shows or bugged conversations with her colleagues. It's not a message that I will strengthen.

We talk about the need to try when we can eat well, and to try our best to keep active and moving our body. She needs soft encouragement in these areas.

I've seen the results of young girls on diet are very early, and the results are not good-with food becoming the object of obsession and control later in life.

We must by all means to educate our children on good eating habits, and enjoy exercise. But Maggie really have to slim down so they can fit into that Mom bought for her dress? I don't think so.

Maggie goes on a diet available at Amazon.
