Enjoy diet: Meditation for Weight Loss

savor-mindful-eating-diet.jpgLast week mindful eating , I wrote about that makes me to another diet book called thinking, "Mindful eating, mindful life enjoy:" by Vietnamese Zen Buddhist Thich Nhat Hanh and doctor and dietitian Lilian Cheung.

The book combines Buddhist spirituality with nutrition facts. Religion and science in a book? Let's see how well they gel.

Nhat Hanh reviews mediation techniques in the book to us to take more account, slow down, and think more about what we put in our bodies to help. The meditations center around the core of Buddhism, which is all about fully aware of themselves and your environment.

The book gives detailed instructions on how to find out what blocks you are not completely take into account when you eat and how to overcome these obstacles. Nhat Hanh discusses stress and emotional eating as well as becoming aware in everyday life.

The nutritionist, Lilian Cheung, advises specific guidelines of diet and exercise to go along with the meditations. She gives readers an idea of how to shopping in the supermarket to and some simple recipe ideas. Vegetarian the diet approach is based and scientifically supported. However, this part of the book is a bit basic and you can access this information almost everywhere.

The authors also get the reader to think about where food comes from when you eat it. Maybe if we require more time to think and where our food comes from, choose, we become more aware and appreciative of our food in the process.

Enjoy the diet may not for everyone. Those who strictly follow a different religion or that can not be willing to explore a more spiritual side of the diet, not like this method. But, for many of us, I see this book as a great tool to explore an entirely different dieting method that can prove to be very effective.

The book herecan be found on Amazon.
